Olga Manukovskaia, licensed esthetician at Olla Beauty in West Hollywood

About

Hi, I'm Olga.

A California-licensed esthetician with a clinical background — and a quiet studio in West Hollywood where I'd love to meet your skin.

Before becoming an esthetician, I spent over a decade in healthcare — I trained as a physician in Russia and worked as a Medical Assistant in the U.S. That clinical foundation is why every treatment here starts with reading your skin, asking the right questions, and choosing techniques that actually serve your goals.

My approach blends European skincare traditions with modern tools: Japanese Asahi massage, Spanish sculpting, advanced signature exfoliation, HydraFacial, microcurrent and LED therapy. Whether you're a teen with your first breakout, a busy professional, or mature skin ready for real results — there's a protocol for you.

Frequently asked

Questions clients ask before their first visit.

From sculpting the lower face without injectables to choosing between HydraFacial and a peel — here are the honest answers. Still wondering about your skin? Text (323) 861-4143.

Sculpting the lower face

Can the lower face be sculpted without surgery or injectables?

Yes. The lower third of the face responds well to non-invasive sculpting when muscle tone, circulation and collagen are addressed together. The core tools in studio are professional microcurrent, clinic-grade LED at 633 nm, targeted chemical peels and Japanese Asahi lymphatic massage. A typical sculpting series is 6 to 10 weekly sessions, then monthly maintenance. Results are gradual and build over 4 to 12 weeks.

What helps with early jowls and a softening jawline in your 30s and 40s?

Early jowls are mostly a muscle-tone and skin-density issue rather than excess skin, so they respond well to in-studio microcurrent, which re-educates the lower face muscles along the jawline and mid-face. We combine it with LED therapy and gentle bio-revitalization peels to support collagen. Most clients see the jawline look firmer and more defined after a series of 8 weekly Microcurrent Sculpting Facials.

How do you address nasolabial folds and marionette lines without injectables?

Nasolabial folds and marionette lines are softened in studio with a layered approach: microcurrent around the mouth and mid-face to re-train muscle support, LED 633 nm to stimulate collagen, and targeted lactic or mandelic peels to refine the skin texture in the perioral area. Home care with retinol, peptides, niacinamide and daily SPF is essential to hold the result.

Does microcurrent really tighten the lower third of the face?

Yes, when it is professional-grade and used correctly along the jawline and mid-face, not directly on the jowl tissue. Clinic microcurrent delivers higher, more controlled output than at-home devices like NuFACE, which is why a single in-studio session can show an immediate sculpting effect that lasts a few days, and a full series of 8 to 10 weekly sessions builds cumulative firmness over 6 to 12 weeks.

Treatments & results

What is a HydraFacial and what does it actually do?

HydraFacial is a multi-step facial that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts congestion from pores using vacuum suction, and infuses the skin with hydrating and antioxidant serums in a single session. It is gentle, has no downtime and gives instant glow and smoother texture. At OLLA BEAUTY it is offered as HydraFacial Glow (45 min, $249). Best for dullness, dehydration, congestion and pre-event prep.

HydraFacial or chemical peel — which is right for me?

HydraFacial is hydrating and gentle with instant glow and no downtime — ideal for maintenance, sensitive skin and pre-event freshness. A chemical peel is more transformative for texture, post-acne marks, uneven tone and fine lines, but it requires a few days of light flaking. Many clients alternate: a peel once every 4 to 6 weeks for correction, HydraFacial in between for maintenance. Olga selects the right protocol after your skin analysis.

How often should I get a microcurrent facial to see results?

For visible, lasting changes the protocol is one session per week for 8 to 10 weeks, then one session per month for maintenance. You will often see a same-day softening of fine lines and a more defined contour, but the structural change in muscle tone and skin density builds over 4 to 12 weeks of consistent sessions. Skipping weeks slows the result.

What is the best facial for adult acne?

For adult acne we use the Acne Clearing Treatment ($179, 1 hr), which combines deep cleansing, careful manual extractions, an anti-bacterial peel selected for your skin and LED blue light. We pair the in-studio work with a personalized home routine using azelaic acid, niacinamide and a gentle retinoid. For congested but not actively inflamed skin, the Deep Pore Extraction Facial ($149) is the better fit.

Sensitive skin, couperose, safety

Is microcurrent safe for sensitive skin or rosacea-prone skin?

Microcurrent itself is generally well tolerated by sensitive and rosacea-prone skin because it does not heat or irritate the surface. We avoid it during an active rosacea flare and adjust the conductive gel and intensity for reactive skin. If you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, or have active broken capillaries that are inflamed, we will choose another protocol such as LED 633 nm or lymphatic Asahi massage.

Do you offer a protocol for couperose, redness and broken capillaries?

Yes. For couperose, persistent redness and visible capillaries we build a calming series: LED 633 nm to strengthen vessel walls, lymphatic Asahi massage, azelaic and centella-based serums, and very gentle enzyme exfoliation. Strong peels, microdermabrasion and high heat are avoided. Daily SPF and a barrier-repair home routine are essential. Most clients see noticeably calmer skin after 4 to 6 weekly sessions.

Before & after your visit

How should I prepare before my facial?

Arrive with clean skin or light makeup. Stop retinol, AHA and BHA exfoliants for 3 to 5 days before any peel or nano-needling service. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for one week before a peel. If you had recent injectables, wait at least 2 weeks before microcurrent. Let Olga know about all skincare products, medications and recent treatments during the consultation.

What should I do (and avoid) right after a treatment?

For the first 24 to 48 hours: no makeup if possible, no hot showers, sauna, steam room, intense workouts or alcohol. No retinol, AHA, BHA or scrubs for 3 to 7 days after a peel. Apply SPF 30+ every morning. Use a gentle cleanser, hyaluronic acid serum and a barrier-repair moisturizer. Olga will send a personalized aftercare plan tailored to the service you received.

The Signature Glow Exfoliation is real. My skin looked tighter and more even after one session. Olga is precise, calm, and clearly knows what she's doing.

Such a peaceful studio. Olga's hands feel like ten years of experience because they are. I've been back four times and brought my mom.

Olga is incredibly thorough. I came in stressed and left with skin that finally felt calm. The studio smells like fresh linen and eucalyptus.
